Cabin Roof Designs
This gazebo has a flat roof. It has no ridge. Works well for gazebos and small carports. Not recommended for larger structures or cabins.
Square Pyramid Roof
This gazebo has a square pyramid roof. Only works for square cabins but could be overly tall for cabins over 4 metres (13 feet).
Apex Roof with Double Hip
This gazebo has a centre ridge, parallel to its longest side and has the gable ends cut to match the slope of the sides. Like the Square Pyramid Roof but stretched out.
Hexagonal Pyramid Roof
This design is used on cabins that have six equal sides, our mid sized BBQ Huts for example. Also some gazebos and summerhouses.
The apex roof has a single ridge, usually in the middle parallel to the longest side.
Pent (Pentland) Roof
This is a single sloped roof. Usually sloping from the front, door and window side of the cabin to the back. Depending on the situation, can give your cabin a lower profile than other roof types.
All four walls are the same length.
A rectangular cabin has two long wall and two shorter walls.
A hexagonal cabin has six usually equal length walls.
An octagonal cabin has eight usually equal length walls.
